Digital safety leader Aura has been selected as a key partner in a newly launched national public service campaign aimed at empowering parents and caregivers to safeguard children from escalating online threats. The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Ad Council and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), seeks to address risks such as cyberbullying, sexual exploitation, scams, and mental health challenges linked to digital platforms.

The campaign, titled “Keep Kids Safe Online,” underscores the urgent need for awareness and action as reports of online child exploitation surge. According to the DOJ’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, incidents of online enticement soared by 82% between 2021 and 2022, with over 36 million reports of suspected child sexual exploitation flagged to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in 2023 alone.

“Every parent wants to protect their child, but the digital world evolves faster than many of us can keep up,” said Hari Ravichandran, CEO and founder of Aura. “By partnering with the Ad Council and DOJ, we’re equipping families with the tools and knowledge to stay ahead of these threats and create safer online environments.”

The PSA campaign, which will air across TV, radio, digital, and social media platforms, encourages parents to take proactive steps such as discussing online risks with children, monitoring their digital activity, and utilizing parental control tools. Aura is contributing its expertise by offering free resources, including identity theft protection, VPN services, and AI-driven parental controls, accessible via the campaign’s hub at ReportChildExploitation.org.

Michelle Hillman of the Ad Council emphasised the campaign’s grassroots focus: “Parents are the first line of defense. Our goal is to meet them where they are with practical, actionable advice to mitigate dangers without discouraging kids from benefiting from the digital world.”

Aura’s involvement aligns with its broader mission to simplify online safety for families through integrated solutions. The company’s suite of products includes real-time alerts for suspicious activity, screen time management, and secure browsing features.
