DMP Unveils Next-Gen Edge AI SoC ‘DI1’ with Advanced AI Inference and Real-Time 3D Ranging at COMPUTEX Taipei 2025
In a significant leap for edge computing, Digital Media Professionals Inc. (DMP) has unveiled its latest innovation—the DI1, a cutting-edge AI system-on-chip (SoC) designed to deliver advanced AI inference and real-time 3D ranging capabilities. The announcement was made at COMPUTEX Taipei 2025, positioning DMP as a key player in the next wave of AI-powered embedded systems.
A Powerhouse for Edge AI Applications
The DI1 integrates a high-performance AI inference engine alongside a proprietary real-time 3D ranging engine, enabling ultra-fast processing for applications such as autonomous robotics, augmented reality (AR), and smart surveillance. Built for low-power edge devices, the SoC promises to bring sophisticated AI capabilities to compact, energy-efficient hardware.
“The DI1 represents a major milestone in edge AI technology,” said Takashi Miyamori, CEO of DMP. “By combining our advanced AI inference with real-time 3D spatial recognition, we are enabling a new generation of smart devices that can perceive and interact with their environment seamlessly.”
Key Features and Industry Impact
The DI1’s 3D ranging engine is particularly noteworthy, offering millimetre-level precision for depth sensing—critical for applications like gesture control, obstacle avoidance, and industrial automation. Meanwhile, its AI accelerator supports popular neural networks, ensuring compatibility with existing machine learning frameworks.
Industry analysts suggest that DMP’s latest offering could accelerate adoption of AI in sectors where real-time processing and low latency are paramount. “Edge AI is rapidly evolving, and solutions like the DI1 are essential for bringing intelligence closer to the data source,” commented Miyamori.
Availability and Future Prospects
DMP plans to sample the DI1 to select partners in Q3 2025, with mass production expected by early 2026. The company also hinted at future iterations with enhanced neural processing capabilities, signalling its long-term commitment to the edge AI market.
